Traffic and Transport Safety Programme Committee
The focus of this committee is on: safety research, policy and implementation; incident management; risk and liability. Themes for ETC 2005 are:
- Strategy and policy: targets and visions; supra-national (worldwide) and pan-European safety studies
- Infrastructure safety: planning and implementation; safety considerations in urban planning, route hierarchy and trip planning
- Safety technology: ITS; information, detection and control
- Speed and enforcement
- Road user behaviour and attitudes: research and consultation; with particular interest in vulnerable road user safety:
pedestrian, cyclists, motorcyclists; the young and the elderly
- Emergency and evacuation planning
- Commercial vehicle safety
- Accident data and analysis: safety evaluation, simulation and visualisation; conflicts, causation and trends
